Personal Notes:

My primary areas of interest are theories of nationalism and ethnicity as well as ethnic conflicts and security broadly defined with particular reference to Southeast Asia. I am interested in the development of political systems within Southeast Asia and how these take shape throughout time particular in Thailand and Indonesia.

Chanintira na Thalang obtained her PhD from the University of Bristol, UK and is currently Assistant Professor of International Relations at Thammasat University, Thailand. Dr. na Thalang has authored articles on national politics, ethnic conflicts, and ethno-nationalism with a special focus on Indonesia and Thailand. Her later research interests include ASEAN regional identity.
